Solution 1: Update QuickBooks to the latest version:

Update QuickBooks Manually:

Close the QuickBooks program on your device
Open The Start menu
Look for the QuickBooks Desktop, and choose Run as administrator
Make sure there is No Company Screen is on, and then access Help.
Next, choose Update QuickBooks Desktop
Go to Options>>Mark All>>Save
Open Update Now option and then Reset Update
After this, go to “Get Updates”
Once the update is completed, reopen QuickBooks Desktop and then hit Yes
Once the installation is done, restart your device.

Set-up Automatic Update:

To set the automatic updates for your QuickBooks program, try the below-given steps:

Open the Help menu, and choose Update QuickBooks Desktop
From the Update Now option and you can also select Reset Update
Next, choose to Get Updates
Once the download is finished, restart QuickBooks
At last, you choose the option to select new release

Solution 2: Check the QB Company File

There are plenty of file-types used in QuickBooks Desktop. But users mainly need to open the QBW file type i.e. the company file that ends with .qbw extension. If QuickBooks won’t open the company file on Mac or Windows try to fix it.

But the QBB (backups) and QBM (portable files) cannot be opened by simply clicking on it. So, make sure you are using the right way to open the required file. If the particular file isn’t opening, check for the cause and fix it, for this try steps given underneath:

Go to the Start menu
Now type “File Explorer” in the search bar to open the same.
Look for the QuickBooks.exe file that can be found in the QB folder
Press and hold the CTRL key and then double-click on the QuickBooks.exe. Keep the CTRL key pressed till the QuickBooks program opens on your device.
Also, check if the QuickBooks already has a company file open

Solution 3: Run the QuickBooks Tools hub:

QuickBooks Tools hub is a product of Intuit that helps to fix common errors with QuickBooks. To install QuickBooks Tool hub, follow the steps:

Close QuickBooks first
Download QuickBooks Tool hub from the official website. Save the file on a location from where it can be easily traced.
Open the downloaded QuickBooksToolHub.exe file
Now, follow the on-screen prompts and agree to the terms and conditions of the installation to complete it successfully
After completing the installation, open the software from your desktop
If the icon cannot be found, simply try to search the program using the Windows start menu.

After installing the program “Tools Hub”, run Quick Fix my program:

Open the QuickBooks Tools hub
Choose Program Problems
Start the QuickBooks Desktop and then open the data file.

Solution 4: Suppress the QuickBooks Program:

Right-click the QuickBooks Desktop, CTRL key and then click Open
Keep the CTRl Key pressed, till you have the “No Company File” window open.
Next, open the company file.

Solution 5: Restart Your Computer:

Solution 7: Check the Registration Status:

Make sure the QuickBooks Desktop is already registered on your device
Keep the QuickBooks open and press the F2 key which will display the product information
Check the registration status of QuickBooks at the right-hand side where the license number is mentioned
For a registered product, it will display “Register>
But QuickBooks isn’t registered, click Ok and close the screen
Click Help and then Activate QuickBooks

Note: For re-registration of QB related files, run Reboot.bat and the files like.DLL and.OCX will be registered again.
